Mountain Living Colorado Style

Floor plan: Custom Mountain Home Colorado Style

This Custom Whisper Creek Home is stunning and we are proud to have been part of this project.  Mountain Log Homes of Colorado who are Whisper Creek Home dealers, built this home and below is their description of the vision.

"We have been log and Timber Home Builders for 30+ years. But when we bought 36 acres 12 miles outside Steamboat Springs, the rural location made subcontractors hard to find. WCLH allowed us to dry in faster, leave the structure over the first winter, then come back the 2nd summer and finish interiors. Having the windows and siding installed saved us 6 months in our construction of this home. Our last home was a traditional gabled full log home. Due to our 280 degree views from top of mesa, we wanted a wall of windows that was not possible with a gabled home. We get up to 90 mph wind gusts in winter, so the shed roof design protects the deck from the wind, and gives us morning sun on the primary deck and evening sun on the covered porch.  The Studio over the garage allows us to have a legal lockoff caretaker unit in the future when we have horses, goats or other livestock. It has a full kitchen and it's own washer/dryer. The stargazing from the upper "hot tub deck" outside the master is magical in the evenings, the roof keeps it relatively snow free in winter. The log accents and traditional Appalachian siding make the property fit into this rural ranch setting, but the wall of windows and soaring ceiling add a mountain contemporary vibe that feels more current." -K.
